It is increasingly well-recognised that today’s complex socio-environmental problems cannot be adequately understood, let alone redressed, from either side of the nature-culture divide that structured the modern constitution of knowledge, and that remains embedded in our educational and research institutions, as well as in dominant cultural imaginaries and social practices. This public forum to launch Bath Spa University’s new Research Centre for Environmental Humanities brings together four internationally renowned scholars and writers who have each been motivated to move out of their disciplinary comfort zone in response to the pressing socio-ecological challenges of our perilous times (see over)
